Become A Foster

Please fill out this form to apply to be a foster

What does fostering entail?

Fostering provides a safe, loving home for a dog while they wait for their forever family. As a foster, you’ll care for the dog as your own - offering daily care, patience, and a stable environment to help them decompress and thrive.

Our dogs live in foster homes, not kennels, allowing us to learn their personalities and needs. Barely A Dog Rescue covers approved veterinary care, grooming care and pet food. Foster parents are expected to transport their foster dog to all veterinary appointments and communicate any health or behaviour concerns promptly.

Fostering is a temporary commitment, but the impact is life-changing. You are giving a dog the chance to feel safe, loved, and truly seen.

Do you:

Do you understand that fostering does not guarantee adoption?
Are you willing to allow meet-and-greets either outside or inside your home if appropriate?
Are you willing to follow all rescue policies and placement decisions?
